On Noble County Fairgrounds.
Maintained by Noble County Historical Society. Features transplanted and restored
one-room schoolhouse, church, log cabin, and covered bridge which are open
to the public throughout the Noble County Fair. The fair is held each year
the week before Labor Day. Group tours can be arranged by calling Myrtle
Ake at 732-2263. Heritage park also is the site of the annual Soakum Festival
(last Saturday weekend of September).
A public recreation complex at the Fairgrounds includes,
Happy Time swimming pool, football field, baseball fields and basketball,
tennis, horseshoe and volleyball courts, all lighted. Also, a lighted one
half mile race track for harness horse racing. Picnic areas and shelters,
a Junior Fair Building, covered grandstand and the Noble County Community
center complete the picture.
