Court House -- Caldwell Square
Built as a civil works administration (CWA) project during the depression of the 1930ís the Noble-County courthouse on the square at Caldwell is unadorned with the towers and turrets that are characteristic of most of its counterparts in Ohio. It is constructed of brick which was manufactured at nearby Ava.
"Art on the square" held on courthouse lawn second weekend in June. Artists, craftsman, food, musicians. free administration.
Entire buisness district is being prepared
for nomination to the National Register.
Old Jail House
This is a picture of the jail on West
Street in Caldwell that was built at the end of 1800's. The proch was replaced
in 1934. Theorigninal porch is being replaced by the Noble County Historical
Society. Watch for the developments within the next weeks.
